Blue eyes considered harmful.

The common man considers blue eyes to be a sign of innocence, but in reality they're so evil that they're comparable to an occult curse. Many accidents of original sin are judged charming but actually are highly unethical. Most Slavs would probably see a markedly improved quality of life from getting deblued. But because of tradition ("the old wine is better") the status quo is upheld. Not unlike how the GOTO statement remains conserved due to the tradition of most programmers having cut their teeth on BASIC ("How Do We Tell Truths That Might Hurt?").

Slavs form a continuum with East Asians. It's not unheard of for Chinese near the border of Russia in Xinjiang to look completely Asian... except for blue eyes.
